Hi im looking for some advice i laid 80sqm of forbo eternal wood decibel to a dance studio about 2 weeks ago they have been open for business for just 1 week and the company i do the work for called me yesterday to say the floor was lifting up and cracking in places!ive looked all through the guidelines on forbos website and cant see anything i may have done to cause this.the floor was an old sorting office i checked for moisture which was fine primed then screeded with green bag and 114 and used f44 as per the rag guide joins where heat welded.my only concern was it was freezing in there when i installed the floor and they only powered up the heating once the studio was in business so im thinking the lifting may be due to expansion(quote me if you have any other suggestions)but im stumped about the cracking.i have to go to site on monday but want to be armed with as much knowledge as possible.thanks
not sure ive got to go there on monday wasnt a problem with the welds at the time though.what are you thinking?
if cracks have appeared at the welds it is caused by the roll of vinyl being dropped on its end. (delivery driver etc unloading) It shatters the vinyl. It wont be noticeable at first but as soon as a bit of dirt gets on it the cracks will start to open up and show.
the edges where cut back slightly to join it as its wood effect also rolls where well packaged straight from forbo and i dont remember seeing damage to any rolls as i inspected them before fitting thanks for quick replies matt
hi daz not saying where its lifting i can only assumes around the edge as it wasnt acclimatised properly but will see monday and get some pics up if i can get some cheers mate
heres some pics after i installed it about 2 weeks ago to give you an idea theres about a 300mm infill at rear wall all other sheets are full 2m width rools by 8.7
Lol, everyone does that, you have to resize them in your pictures on computer before you put them on here. Looks a good job mate, what temperatures have the room been getting to. It could be the room getting to hot. I had a polyflor wood plank job, fitted cold as no heating in the room and planks cold. A week later when heating went on the planks expanded. Had to take some out and trim them. Good job I used ps.

cheers mate not sure on temperature of room but there was no heating at all we had a space heater and that was to heat a 500 sqm area im pretty sure the liftings due to expansion bit worried tho as i also fitted 50 sqm amtico and 60 sqm eternal safety vinyl cap n cove also on the same job so hoping that will be ok
quick update went and looked at floor and couldnt see any cracks the floor had expanded near the welds a bit and lifted so glued and stuck back don thanks for all your help anyway
