Pin leveller

Does anyone use a pin leveller? I'm thinking of getting one when I've got a spare 75 sheets.

 

Yep, piece of cake to use.
Have a look on the Refina web site, they've got all sorts of floor prep stuff

 

If your only doin a 3mm screed I find them not as good as just using a trowel, but if you have to do anyhting above 3mm then it works well IMO

 

try a screed comb
Excellent at 3-5mm depths

 

Tried one but didnt like it. But maybe it takes time to get used to it.

But what if the floor isn't level how would the pin leveller work ?

Yeh if the floor is too far out the the comb wont work as well tbh
It only follows the contours of the floor itself, so will follow dips and rises etc
Still great bit of kit for getting exactly 3-5mm depths etc

 

Who sells the combs mod4? I can only find the pin levellers?

Anyone got a skid leveller (not something to cure the squits!) with only the 2 height bars at the side? Thinks it is more for rougher floors, was thinking in getting one.

 

is it no the same idea as the pin leveller but has only 2 pins so to speak, while the pin leveller itself has 5 i think? :?

 

Yes mate, but my gathering is the 2 pins at the side are like smooth (difficult to explain looks like the letter "j" sections of metal) that adjust the height at the side and are better for slightly rougher floors as they don't have pins that catch every nook and cranny. http://www.resifloor.co.uk/Tools_&_Acce ... _info.html
