Now the fuel is so costly are you added some money on to your quotes to cover it?

I have diesel van & car and costing alot to run them both.

Heard today that there could be a diesel tax coming too, it was just a bloke in flooring place so might be rubbish.
We're getting a new car next year, is it worth gettin petrol?

They say that buying a petrol car / van now works out cheaper over its life time. If you was to buy a petrol motor and only keep a couple of years then a diesel is the better bet as the re-sale prices are better.

However, gas is becoming available at most petrol garages now. So a petrol motor with a gas conversion comes out around the same money new as a diesel. Add on the savings (half petrol / diesel costs) then you will defo be quids in.

    BUT..... give this a thought.

Diesel used to be a lot cheaper than petrol. Manufactures started to develop diesel engines that was as quiet and preformed as well as diesel engines . Hence we all started buying diesel motors. (remember all the old days transits etc was petrol, not diesel)

Also im pretty sure that diesel is a by product of producing petrol. If im correct its actually cheaper to produce diesel. So why is it now more expensive?

If we all return to petrols and have them LPG converted will we then suffer from increased petrol and LVT costs and end up with Diesels being cheaper again?

yeah we've just had to up our prices to accomodate this, and also for the cost of estimations to us in fuel now.

Matt you're right Diesel is a by product of the refinery of petrol.
Up your way the other day an got raped at the garage 1.47 a litre wtf, filled up before I left kingston 1.37 a litre same stuff same garage, how can the price vary so much an I thought the vat was frozen on fuel.
Doesn't matter if you have petrol, diesel, lpg.
Aslong as we are dependent on it we'll keep takin it in the arse from the people who refine it, who seem to deliberatley hold back production to drive up the price per barrel WTF thats a racket an should not be allowed.
LPG when it first hit the forecourts I remember the price at summit like 27p per litre an now what is it 60 - 70 in how many years.
I'm gonna start runnin my van on pig poop who cares if it stinks.
Be cheaper to buy cases of wiskey soon an pour that in ya tank. Have you been drinking sir no officer but the van has 6 cases of wiskey lol.
