Recently done a an open plan living room kithchen dinner that ran through to a t shaped hall and all cupboards off it 60m2 Was asked to go back to have a look as it looked dirty, it almost looks like there is a kind of dirty chalky efect across it, said he had cleaned it a couple of times but no difference, asked what he cleaned it with and it was a lamimate/wood cleaner that you can buy off the shelves in any supermarket, whats your opinions guys??
Hard to say really,it didnt look noticable when fitting but when I went back to see it it looks as if it has a patchy dirty/chalky look in places almost like a matt finnish in places but not in others Will up load some pics if i can fathom out how to do it Batch numbers were all the same so dont think thats the problem either
Was it a high temperature adhesive you used. Sometimes when you wipe it off there's a residue that shows up as being patchy.
he's probably used white spirits. A builder done it on one of my jobs while the customer was there watching. he spilled some cement on it and then cleaned it with white spirits. it looked ok until you opened the front door and natural light hit it. then it looked like the shine had gone. there's also that they might be faulty planks. is it in or on the planks?
Was a new build and the cleaners were in after me left the cleaning pack but it vanished, its the wood, laminate cleaner thing thats got me thinking thats what it could be
That could be a possibility with the white spirit but who knows, dont think the planks are faulty defo looks like something on the top of them, you dont notice it in the hall but with the natural light coming through the living area you can notice it
Thats a strange one Swerve supprised Matt ain't chimed in yet with an answer hey may be busy. I'll have a stab in the dark, do Amtico pre-seal their gear if so the cleaner may have stripped of the seal. Just a thought. I usually tell customers to use baby wipes for spot cleaning as the moisture is contained within the wipe and if its safe for a babys bottom then its safe for the floor.
You might have to go over with a white spirit, casper springs to mind.Jokin aside you need to do something quickly.Maintenance cleaning pack will do for starters, always act in a pro-manner.You need to either dull or bright the surface, that way its all even.Hard to say without visuals.
