Mapei Ultratop Contractor Training

    Been having a few issues sorting this course out. The course will not be running until sometime next year (2012)

    Mapei Ultratop =

    MAPEI has introduced a new product called Ultratop, which it calls “the perfect canvas for integral colors, stains and dyes.” Ultratop is a self-leveling concrete topping designed for fast-track resurfacing and interior construction of horizontal wear surfaces in high traffic areas. Available in light gray and white, it can be stained to mimic natural stone, marble, terrazzo or practically any design imaginable. White Ultratop is engineered to maximize the brilliance of architectural stains, integral coloring agents, unique additives, sealers and coatings. Ultratop usually hardens within three hours and can be stained, sealed or coated just 24 hours after pouring. It is abrasion-resistant and cures to compressive strengths of 6,100 psi.

    Matt its not a resin is it or have any nasty chemicals in it not trying to scare anyone off I just wanna know whats in it for my own health reasons, use to do a lot of resin but the prolonged exposure really took its toll on my ecxzma so don't touch the stuff anymore.
    But if this ain't resin I could be interested.
    Plus need an excuse to get away and have a few beers with some fellow commrads.

    Im not 100% sure mate.

    I dont think so. Mapei are years ahead tho on safety mate. All there products meet the new VOC laws coming in. Put it this way, they have a epoxy that you can wash your roller, hands etc with water ! Since when was that possible? :shock:

    I've been playing with it recently to use it for something alternative. It's more like a cementious screed. After it's laid it's ground and polished to give the finish. Aggregate can be added during mixing and is exposed in the grinding/polishing phase which gives the stone/terrazzo effect. Nothing more nasty than the screeds you use.
