Google Adwords frequently sends out emails (and text) to get you on their advertising program. Can work well for business, but also can take a while before you get the ad message right and bringing in money. We use it for specific marketing campaigns and we keep to a maximum spend per day and per campaign.
Do you use google search engine? If so you must have seen these "sponsored" links on the right hand side (and often also at the top). These are ads from Google Adwords, you set up an ad like that which links to your website (you should always link to a specific page, not just your home page). Every time some one sees your ad on Google (and/or on other websites) AND click on the link, you pay Google for the pleasure (pay-per-click, also known as ppc). Now, it depends on a lot of things if such an ad for you will bring in enough new customers to make it worthwhile the costs of these clicks at all.
