I had a call 1130 in the evening once, and one boxing day someone rang at one oclock whilst i was eating my turkey!
When I started out in 1987 I had call a 11.30pm fitter going to London the following morning at 5am, need some stuff I did a delivery that night at about 12.30 and finaly got paid 3 months later just before they went bump!!
We had a client once calling our answering machine Sunday evening 11.30pm (answering machine in showroom). When the boys turned up the following morning they were turned away "as notified by phone, 'cos the builder was not ready"! (Boys not always go to showroom before going to the work address) Still billed the client for the lost day
Ye we get that alot. Answer phone messages left at silly hours cancaling the next days work that we have already loaded up etc.
Was the first and only time this happened. We normally deliver the wood on the Saturday so we know the situation there and then and can discuss all issues with the client. Never a problem, except this "Doctor" client (he always insisted to be called doctor and if you said Mister xxxx he often hissed: it's doctor, doctor xxxx!)
We've got lovely clients (99% of them anyway, just once in a while there's bound to be one who think they're "better" ;-))
once had a customer phone at 5.30am, he couldn't sleep so phoned to check what time i would be calling with him and what would he need to clear out of his kitchen. Ia'm afraid i was a little short with him and asked him to call back i 3 hours when i was awake..never did get back to sleep.. when the phone goe's at that time of the morning you wake with a startle because you think something is wrong with a family member
