How many of you ply n underlay under your double door bars as NICF state. i have got to admit how much better it looks rather than cutting the underlay flush to the plate
me, but i only use 4mm plywood under a flat plate not the underlay also. However i carry raised based plates so dont need to do the above unless raising the one side of the plate only. I.E- carpet with underlay one side and felt back carpet the other side.
In that state then using ring nails to fix the plate may be acceptable,but as the plate can bounce if underlay is placed underneath then normal nails are not acceptable.Ted uses two plates so that the customer pays twice.
