Cheers Matt, looks like a good read. I read with interest an article in it about 'the importance of qualifications' ! Its the stocklists i get sent every month - dont know why as I never subscribed to it
Matt I've never joined because I always felt it was more inclined towards carpet fitters and I do mainly wood/ laminate and lvt work. And hell......if doidgey thinks he's too old at 54!!!!!!???? special rates for oap's?
Hi , I was a member of NICF for about 15 years or more , let my membership lapse when I had to take an enforced break from fitting due to health . Now I am also the wrong side of 50 (just) and most of my work comes from word of mouth and past customers so I can't really justify another yearly bill for membership as I am happy with what work is coming through , I can no longer work at a young persons rate . I think maybe it would be beneficial for the younger guys coming through now although the "entrance test" is so easy it could mean cowboy fitters being NICF accredited. Just my thoughts, Andy.
People ask me every week!,"dya naw so n so?",he s a carpet fitter,no i dont im afraid. We are too busy out n abowt so dont get involved with NICF,especially me but maybe should do out of interest.I havent found the need to be pushed into joining as especially on the forums you guys dont get big on promoting it enough (for me anyway).
Not at all, what i mean is iam not grasping as to why it will make me a better tradesmen. either that being for monetary reasons or what gains for the present or future (maybe its my age mmm).
The NICF is fantastic, if you want loads of calls from tight arse's who buy carpet on the internet and need a good installer.
