right then, as requested i have taken a few pics of my work today.

Today i was out preping a subfloor of a mix of concrete and wood. There was a bit of damage to the concrete and some bad dips also that needed sorting.

    Enjoy!

To start with we needed to uplift the old flooring-

next we needed to scrape the floor clean and give it a blast over with the hoover. I always use a hoover over a broom due to it stops dust in the air that settles every where.

next up we start to install the plywood. I fixed the plywood with a mestri staple gun using 22mm staples (cfa approved) also where the subfloor changes to concrete i cut the plywood to over lap the concrete by about 10mm and glued it in place. Also i added a pick of making a template for the plywood.

after the plywood was in place we need to prime the concrete and wood subfloor and take mark out where the dips are in the subfloor

Next up i decided on a rapid set compound to make some ramps and fill in the 10mm dip in the subfloor!

and to dry the primer plus compound i used this

Next up was the compound. I opted for a fibre bonded product made by UZIN. It has fibres mixed into the compound to make it flex when it meets a wooden subfloor. (so it dont crack basically) I mixed using a power wisk in a large ITOOLS bucket that hold 3 bags at the same time!
A tip for you, notice the vacuum attachment on the side of the bucket. This stops ALL dust while mixing. Also in the first pick you can see a spike roller that eliminates trapped air and helps lose trowel marks. However the compound is water based and flows like water!

next is a pick of me stood on the compound! Only 2 hours later and it was dry enough for me to walk on!!

One last thing to do before home time is to feather finish the joins on the plywood that i installed. This stuff goes on so thin that you dont need to sand etc. I also used it to ramp off the trowel marks where the smothing compound came to a finish on the plywood section. I decided on a Fball product for this. Please note that you need to skim the whole of the plywood if you use screws or ring shank nails instead of divergent staples

and last of all, a refuel........

works really well grip. ITOOLS make a proper clamp that holds the end of the hoover in the bucket but i find that just lipping the hoover end up through handle works fine.

neat for non-absorbent floors and water down for plywood/concrete etc.

If really absorbent i will water down load and give a couple of coats and then a final coat of 3/4 or simular.
