Serious problem with concave blades over past few months.tried different suppliers, different brands. All the same.tried the light scoring approach, makes little if no difference. As an LVT installer, precision cuts are vital.when you cut 3 inch down a cut,and the tip of the blade snaps off into the tile,it's dangerous, and, frustrating. Says, made in Sheffield. No way,it's chinese shit. If it is made in Sheffield ,it's the end of an era.Anybody else got this problem?? Thanks guys.
Really winding me up this. What happened to Great Britain. I’d love to know if they are made in Sheffield. Have you tried the Janser blades as the straights are decent.
Glad it isn't just me then, bought a load last summer and every box is like it. I used to get mine off Ebay from a seller but it seems alot of them have disappeared. Found some off Etsy that I'm hoping are old 'non faulty' stock as they're in the old boxes
Yea, we using the ones from cfs or sweeny inguess. Tip breaks on first cut. Ive got a old sweeny pack and they seem fine. Think we will have to get stanley or floorfit ones next but cost goes right up
We use Ballister pro concave blades from waxbill.co.uk they are ice hardened and brilliant, we use their straight blades and hooked blades too after finding other blades useless. Hope this helps.
Their standard heavy duty straights are made in sheffield are actually quite good i thought, they were that good i changed my blade and slipped on a winder and ended up with 3 stitches in my hand just before christmas
