I have just laid some glue down polyflor Camero LVT planks on 9mm ply. Where the planks met a door threshold into another room, I laid the planks about 1cm longer past the threshold of the door thinking I could cut them across in a straight line later and maybe place a marquetry stip across there before starting a different LVT in the other room. Is it possible to cut across the LVT boards in a straight line and remove the excess so I can lay new LVT boards up to it - or have I made a rod for my back, and should have cut each plank at the correct length before laying ?
Yes you can cut a new lvt into another to make a continuation without the need of a threshold strip. You can either so a tile to tile or like you say, add a divider such as a grout strip/feature strip
Just remember to remove the Burr from the cut tiles before you do the join so you'll get a nice tight connection between the 2

Just one ghing……should I do several passes with a flooring knife to cut through the tiles insitu - because obviously I can’t bend and fold the tiles to cut them as they are already stuck down ? . (sorry if stupid question but new to this situation and don’t want to f**k it up!)
Just make sure you have that straight edge or whatever you are using to cut against doesn't move, 2 or 3 passes, lift slightly, bend and snap then use your knife to remove the underside burr. You can reapply adhesive under the tiles anyway so don't worry about that of you've stick them down. If you do it without lifting you'll struggle to get the burr off without too much faffing around if you've never done it before
