Which is better underlay for bedrooms and stairs?

Wilsons Plushwalk 12mm or Treadaire Chromium 9mm?

    Or anything else?

    Thanks

Chromium is one of the best underlays on the market, if you want it a little softer though but still want the carpet to last Tredaire Ambience would be my pick, I wouldn’t go with anything less dense especially on stairs and would keep 9mm on stairs as the thickest I would go too.

I’m the same. Chromium is great for stairs.

And you don’t want 12mm underlay on the stairs.

Thank @dazlight and @tarkett85. What about for bedrooms...would plushwalk 12mm be better than tredaire? I dont mind getting different for stairs and bedrooms.

Is there an issue in using chromoium on the stairs and then something 11mm on the hall and landing?

is chromium the absolute best underlay for stairs? Is there anything better that isn’t rubber? I’ve got rubber at the moment although it holds up well, it’s rock hard and doesn’t seem like it holds in warmth.

    thank you

Personally for me 180kg density is too hard for an underlay, its ok for commercial or high traffic, but for bedrooms i use Plushwalk 12mm or 10mm for the stairs. Been using Plushwalk for years now and its the best out there, for me as a fitter is much easier to fit and cut too :)
