Hi, we are looking at Karndean/Amtico for our kitchen/diner/hallway. Existing floor surface is self-levelling screed on top of an uninsulated concrete slab. It's a low energy retrofit so the architect's plan is to overlay a thin layer of Kingspan onto the screed and then float a glued chipboard/plywood floor on top of that. LVT would then be glued to the ply. I need the build-up to total around 50mm due to slider and external door heights.

I'm currently thinking of something like:

butted 20mm kingspan < floating 18mm glued T&G chipboard < screwed 9mm flooring grade ply < glued LVT

    Any issues with that plan?

Thanks in advance for any advice

    To much movement imo
I’d be going a themo top board glued down with a ms adhesive then 10mm fibre smoothing compound.

Maybe look at a gypsum based liquid screed. They can go in thin and will be more stable than floated chipboard.
