Greetings just joined restoration is my/are thing been at it quite a while still learning hope i can add and gain knowledge on this great site
wooden floors, parquet, plank we restore all types of flooring encaustic tiles, quarry tiles to stone floors limestone, slate etc we mainly work on old properties not just floors but limited to the fabric of the building solving issues created in the present to restore the past
Great. what adhesives do you use for gluing parquet down. We keep changing ours. Used a Mapei one last time.
Styccobond because i like the Stopgap screed i am a Bona registered contractor so i really like Bona R848 the Marldon MXA 200 is good in my opinion , restoring floors we just need to get in and out the top 3 do it for me
Mapei is that the ultra bond seen it but never used it , i tend to stick with what i know !! strayed of the path a few times and it bit me suppliers are a big issue in IMO as you never really know how long its been sitting on a shelf or pallet till you lift the lid on the job
"Suppliers are a big issue" is a sweeping statement, and if i may say so, unclear. Do you mean the manufacturer or the distributor? I would expect any problems with the product to rare, regardless of the who is manufacturer. Tubs usually have a manufacture date on them & a shelf life of 12 months so use that as a clear indication of whether you should lift the lid. One issue you could encounter is if a tub is mishandled and tipped on its side. This invariably does not happen in the factory as the process is automated up to, and including the point the tubs are palletised for transportation. Also, you say the "the top 3 do it for me", that's your top 3, not necessarily the top 3.
i have had issues with suppliers and manufactures regarding the quality of the products mainly a year or so after lock down the issues were dealt with outlets do not always store the products properly and not all carriers are careful so me as an end user on site sometimes end up with S@%t that puts time and problems on a job , and as my post says The top three do it for me ....me not you , not next door just me in my humble opinion one mans meat is another mans poison, i have been at it a while and dipping blocks in Bitumen was as good as it got years ago
