Hello! Looking for some advice. I've ordered an oak threshold for between my en-suite and bedroom because there's quite a height difference of 36mm. The oak threshold will span the depth of that piece of timber that is between the door frame indicated in red (120mm wide) and then when the carpet is fitted it should butt up to the lower end of the bevelled threshold. The bit of timber in the picture is level, but the floorboards adjacent to it are slightly out of level with the left side of the floor being 5mm below the piece of timber and the right side being 2mm above. So my question is, what height should I have the lower part my oak threshold made to make sure I don't keep stubbing my toe! Carpet + Underlay I plan on getting: Victoria Impressions/Expressions - apparently about 15mm thick Cloud9 Cirrus or Cumulus Underlay (whichever you'd suggest with this carpet!) 9-11mm thick So my question is, what height would you make the lower edge of the threshold? My main concern is it looking stupid and stubbing my toe. I know that I could just add the two dimensions together but I was wondering if experienced floor fitters could give me some advice on what dimension they'd go for. Any advice greatly appreciated. Cheers
I should add, I realise I should have waited until I got the carpet before ordering the threshold but it didn't occur to me until I'd already paid for it. Just need to specify the dimensions now.
The oak threshold we usually fit standard carpet and underlay (20mm) come 13mm so you could get away with 20mm
