Hi I’m looking to lay some lx-Housys deco-tile & struggling as to which adhesive would be sufficient. I’m after an easy to use glue as I’m no fitter & just helping my son lay a tidy floor in his Cafe . Been looking at F46 & Bostix A300 as they have a long open time & would help prevent us being caught out whilst laying tiles . They will be going down over what appear to be Marley tiles but they are soundly fixed & intact , only covering as they look like an American diner is best to describe them The floor will require a mop at end of each day as well Any recommendations on what adhesives would be suitable for use on the above dilemma would be much appreciated Darren
Errrr non? I dont think any adhesives are recommended for going direct to vinyl. Bit of a gamble but f46 probably your best bet. I had to do one for a hair salon 20 years ago and its still down now. Let the f46 go off/turn clear. Very risky install. Lots of potential issues.
Hi Thanks for your reply, I’m general building & maintenance but don’t really get involved in flooring , laid the odd laminate & carpets but not LVT so I’m green to it lol . This Moduleo is that what’s in my pic or another type of floor your recommending as my sons already bought the LVT 75mtr2 of it . I’m only guessing the floor currently is Marley as it seems to match images when I Google images of it but I could be wrong & you’d know better . The current floor is solidly down & we don’t have the down time to rip it all up so aim to go over the top , I know it’s not the best but our only option . F46 was what I was considering using as a long open time but F ball recommended F49 because it can cope with standing water apparently I.e regular mopping but I didn’t mention what the sun floor was & I don’t know what the open time of this 2 part adhesive is . I’m just after something that sticks , easy to keep up with & not affected by mopping at end of each day ♂️
I like the 'only option' comment when that pops up Let's hope they stay down over them tiles else you'll be forced with the other options....try and live with a loose dangerous floor or rip it up and be left with nothing but bitumen and further expense...just saying
I wouldnt worry about the fball recommendation. They wont recommend anything stuck direct to marley tiles!
