Would a click LVT product fail 2 years after installation due to not acclimatising?

A click LVT product in herringbone fitted 2 years ago. Random individual planks seem to have movement and top layer peeling?
Independent group state not acclimatised so no defect.

    Not acclimatised what a joke
I would guess its poorly made. Could be moisture, could be heat. Could be lack of expansion. Could be a awful product that will be off the market in a few years

It sounds like the main issue is the lack of proper acclimatisation before installation. LVT needs to adjust to the room’s temperature and humidity for 48-72 hours before fitting. If this wasn’t done, the planks could move or peel over time, which might explain the random movement you're seeing.

That said, peeling might point to wear or possibly a defect in the top layer. Even if acclimatisation wasn’t done, it’s worth getting the peeling checked further. But the independent group is likely right—if it wasn’t acclimatised, it’s not a manufacturer defect.

What a load of crap. So a living room could live in temperatures of 25*c to 0*c
How can you acclimatise to that? That’s the biggest get out by flooring manufacturers ever made.

Product was Universal 55 click herringbone from Victoria Floors.
Just find it unusual that the install would start lifting in random places and only random single tiles. If acclimatisation was an issue wouldn't it happen within a few months and affect a pressure area with a collection of tiles lifting/peeling?

The install was done over 4 days after the client moved in so ordinary home temperatures. Since discovered that the inspection person didn't even discuss acclimatisation with the client and seems to have just added this to his report? All a bit dodgy from inspection ppl??

Weve had lvt clic manufacturers claim the floor is out of warranty because theres light shining on it through a window/door glass. So it cant be installed anywhere there is a window?? We are very careful about the clic we install as there are so many bad ones out there. I haven’t used the one your talking about but we will only use Quickstep or karndean or a product that has a unilin locking system.
