Been fitting a lot of karndean lately. Had loads of bother with quality.

knight tile - different thickness planks, so it looks like some are lifting when there not

Art select basket weave - the centre square tiles being different sizes, as much as 3/4mm different

disgusting for what it retails at. Gave samples to the shop the work was for to pass onto rep!!

All made in China. They choose low price manufacturing now over quality

We are fitting a cheap new one this week. 3 local distributors selling it. Forgot the name. Tromco or similar. Kieran said today it’s crap and a nightmare to fit. Another one not to sell ffs

Had a nightmare with some white TLC a few weeks back, both ends of plank touching, gap in the middle, like a banana. Only manufacturer I’m not getting any trouble with is Amtico, but I’m hearing a lot of people are

I mentioned the van gogh banana range to the karndean rep and his reply was that nobody else had complained, I don't think their basket weave has ever been cut right, it even has gaps on their sample board

this is their go to answer on all problems. Better off looking for something that isn’t poor quality.

I had a bit of a heated discussion with a karndean rep when I popped into my suppliers. The lads were asking what I've been fitting lately and I was banging on about Amtico parquet so the rep pops his head out the side office and smirks with a roll of eyes so I just told him that the last few KT plank jobs I've done there seems to be a slight difference in the height of the tiles especially on the headers and a few art select parquets ive done seem to be slightly out in size on some and he said same thing about no one else complains so I just called him out, telling him that's the 'go to' automated response all you reps give. Bit of a tit for tat and we just left it at that after I said it must be my prep and my imagination, being sarcastic with him...

I was about to leave out the carpark and my own rep must have mentioned that I've been near putting an order through for 380m2 of the art select parquet and he soon changed his tone. Telling me he'll set up a real good rate for me if I take the lot in one lump but to be honest I'm trying to sway the customer to a different manufacturer as its a massive job (2 floors) and when it just doesn't fit right from the get go your in the road to doom.

Yeah, I've been thinking about that, especially as they are no longer going to update my stands, as they have brought out new ones which will cost me something like 17k, would rather spend the money with other companies with better products and better support

I don't want the new ones anyway, seems pointless having a "display " stand when you hide all the samples, i can just imagine the state of the showroom, when you have a couple of customers in, wanting to see various samples and you've had to lay them out all over the place because it's the only way to actually see them
