Morning all, So I'm moving into my next home in a couple of months and it belonged to an older chap who hasn't decorated in best part of 25 years so the carpets are in dire need of replacement. We visited a couple of shops today, and ideally want to stay independent, but for the best carpet in my price range I'm willing to shop anywhere tbh. Now I've done about an hour of research and come to the conclusion that the best carpet in my price range (around £25/m2 max) would probably be Victoria heartland ultra. So my first question would be is it a much better carpet than the heartland standard? We'd like something thick and long lasting, the wife's obsessed with It leaving hoover lines etc. She loves it. Now I see the standard heartland is around £20 Vs around 26-27 M2 for the ultra so I could stretch for the ultra if it's worth it. If there's anything better in this price range please do recommend. Now regarding underlay, again I've no idea but from a quick read about plushwalk 10mm seems to be quite well recommended. I have around 97m2 to cover 2 living rooms, 3 bedrooms and landings, I'm advised not to use the same carpet for the stairs as a harder wearing one may be required for this. Again, suggestions welcome here especially if it can be something from a similar range from same manufacturer as would like to keep colours almost identical throughout. Apologies in advance as I'm a total newbie and just want the best possible carpet before I drop £2500 on it! Thanks in advance, stephen
How much does it usually run per m? Called the local carpet supplier and they want £37/M2 which seemed extortionate
