Lifting floor 25mm in height for LVT...

    I am looking for some advice on lifting my 13 square metre floor height by 25mm in hallway to make it level with my kitchen. I am intending to lay LVT over it to match the kitchen. I have been looking at using a 20mm XPS thermal insulation boards adhered to the concrete floor with flexible adhesive, then finish with a layer of laytex leveller. Was wandering if this is a good way to go or not.

    I want to avoid both the cost,effort and mess of using a levelling compound to build it up if possible as done this in another room and it broke both me and my budget :).

    I've had to do this one several customers newbuilds where they have Lvt throughout but underfloor heating only in the kitchen so leaves the hallway & WC down 20mm.

    Personally I wouldn't go 20mm with the boards, if you feel the difference between the 10mm and 20mm there is quite a margin when it comes to the dense feel so I usually 10mm and a thick coat of fibre screed over the top to bring it up to the same level as the kitchen.

    Yeah should have mentioned that bit hey :D
    That's all I use now for the Ufh installs, warm up time is a little slower but hold the heat for alot longer

    Customers who supply there own tend to go with the 10mm xps boards and I try and sway them to the cement board but if I do have to use xps then I'm not going over 10mm, prefer 6mm but more leveller
