We’ve just had an LVT floor fitted and noticed a small “dip” as you walk around it. The builder used “Bond it Levelmaster” to screed over old tiles, this was to level the floor with the hallway. He has fitted Polyflor Camaro glued to the screed using F46. I want to attach a photo but I can't on here for some reason. The maximum dip is about 8mm at the centre of a 2m spirit level. Obviously this isn’t right but my question would be what to do about it, and if we decide to live with it (is that an option?) then would it be likely to cause issues in the future? Thanks Paul.
It'll continue to catch your eye if you live with it but other than that it shouldn't cause you issues if it's just poor levelling. To make good then that area would need uplifting the camaro and using a fast set feather compound to bring it up level then refit the camaro whether it's the same ones or new
Also it doesn't actually catch the eye, the pattern is Polyflor Camaro Smoked Concrete if you know it, it's kind of a mottled look which hides the dip. To be honest the only reason I noticed it was if felt a bit odd walking over it. My main concern is that it won't last because it's "bent" (if very slightly) and will therefore push the tiles out over time. Can you actually reuse the tiles if you take them up? We do have tiles from the same batch at the minute, or could order more, as they are for the hall and a separate utility room, especially for the utility room it wouldn't matter if they were from a different batch as there's a small step up to it anyway
Depends how careful the tiles are taken up but if you got enough spare then use them and keep the used ones incase you need to replace any in the future.
Camaro is pretty good for batches so you could just order some more incase they don’t come up well. Might wear poorly if there’s a high spot but I shouldn’t effect it otherwise
