    Hi all,

I am enclosing section of my large garage for utility. The floor is concrete - fairly flat it seems.

I want to lay down laminate - 12mm or 10mm Kronospan brand I like.

As I am not insultating below the concrete, I would like the best underlay I can get that will keep floor as warm as possible (comfortable on the foot).

I am about to order Techni-board , 5mm, and they are advertised as 2.15 tog. It will cost me £72 for 4 packs to cover my area.
They are considered light weight. I'm not sure if that is putting me off.

Alternatively you get products like timbertech 2 or sonic gold ? but the tog rating is not as good as techni-board.

Is there any other product I should consider?

Also, will I need to use a Damp proof membrane before my underlay boards? If so, Is it the product I 'paint' onto the floor? prices vary a lot. I've seen
SikaBond Rapid DPM. but will be costly, I'd need two tubs at over £150.

    Please advise.
