Moved into a property, redoing bathroom and discovered the old bathroom floor actually run ~3 inches into the hallway where it met the carpet. As I have had the bathroom tiled it has exposed this gap between the carpet and the bathroom tile. I thought it would look weird to have the tiles running out into the hallway so i have stopped them at the door.

My question is what is the best way to resolve this gap. I do have spare matching carpet but I would want a relatively seamless connection between the existing carpet and the new piece that would have to fill the gap. Is it best to use double sided adhesive tape, steamers, lay the whole hallway carpet again etc?

I tried to upload a picture but i dont have 10 posts.

    Cheers,
