Hi, thankyou for your reading I just need some advice as I am a little unnerved about my carpet fitting experienceok, Ok, ordered my carpet,, persona measuring was fine, but then had to come back the week before to remeasure. 6pm Tuesday I get a message saying the fitter is coming at 2pm tomorrow. I said I am out, he said the next morning that the fitter was already booked now. I said they can have access to the property that day (Wednesday) he asked me to transfer fitters money to him but I said no I wanted to see the carpet first. He said he would pay it and I can pay him day after when seen it. He nis read my message about where the key was, fitter came but couldn't get in. He then told me he could come back next day (Thurs).instead. I was at work so Sam rules applied. Came back Thursday late afternoon carpet was in my view not fitted great, smoke alarm was hanging odd prob hit with roll of carpet, carpet was too big around edges. I asked if the fitter xoukd come back today as I was t happy. He was due to come back at 9.30 today, he turned up at 12. Said carpet had been cut a bit big and wasn't on gripper properly. Said you can often feel the grippers on stairs aswell when walking up that's normal. They were there literally 5 mins. I said we will go back to original plan where I transfer the money to man who measured and they will pay him. Smoke alarm still not fixed and still not completely happy with work. Transferees the money now it's a savings account and can take up to one working day. 5 o clock comes I look at my phone had 3 missed calls from the measurement man, and a text, sayibg rhw fitter had not been paid. I was just answering the text as he turned up banging on my door. I told hi. It was done, and he went. He then messaged agin 3 tines tonight. The latest the money willl be in is Monday morning, but I scared he comes back. Thanks
Doesn’t sound right to me. It may be genuine but if someone said that to me alarm bells would be ringing.
