I have just had Karndean Art Select fitted throughout my house including the stairs. I’m really unhappy with the fitting and would be very grateful for opinions on it for when I speak to the fitter.

    Thank you,

    Victoria

That's awful, no attention to the detail was taken by the 'fitter' with them cuts. Nice big thick bead of silicone to hide the gaps aswell.

Baffles me how a so called fitter could walk away proud of how he's left it thinking he's done a great job o_O

Is it just the stairs that are like this?

Unfortunately there are gaps in every room. He said he used 9mm ply to make a perfect foundation for it but now in my dining room the floor feels bouncy and creaks when you walk in it.
He’s adamant that it’s perfect and that it needs expansion gaps because of movement.

Expansion gaps in the ply or karndean?

In the Karndean between the edge of the flooring and the skirting boards.

:D the guy is an amateur.
You don't need expansion gaps for the lvt, he's feeding you a lump of turd.

Is this a fitter you found yourself or through a company/shop?

Also it sounds like he hasn't fixed the ply properly if it's now bouncing and the floorboards wasn't before

He was recommended by my usual flooring chap as he’s apparently Karndean approved

Karndean approved doesn't mean anything, can easily label yourself approved.

What has your usual flooring chap said about it?

I’ve not spoken to him yet as I wanted to find out if I was expecting too much. I’ve paid him 2/5 of the money and he’s expecting the rest on Saturday morning. I want to tell him to redo it but after seeing the terrible job I’ve git no faith in his ability

Well no matter what he feeds you then don't accept it until you are happy with it. If its gapping over the whole lot then I'd be asking for it to be redone.
I wouldnt be handing over anymore money that's for sure if it's as bad as you say.

You got anymore pics of the rest?

I’ll pop back up in the morning and get more pics as for some reason they aren’t uploading.

really don’t want a battle but there’s no way I’m going to give up. Do you think it’s worth paying for an independent experts report?

Yes you could get an independent report and it will give you full ammo if this gets complicated down the line.

Look forward to more pics :D

Well that is very poor, no way should you be paying and settling for that.

Looks like a decent size job as well.

How these so called fitters get away with shite like this baffles me.
