Hello, I have registered into this forum in order to ask you for your opinion about design strips. I would like to have a LVT flooring with design strips, however, in my country its not common to use it. So its almost impossible to get any reviews if its good or not. We have chosen quickstep vinyl flooring with amtico design strips. Quickstep vinyl tiles (BAGP40157) are 2,5mm thick with 4 micro belevel grooves. The amtico design strips are 3 mm in width and I assume that they are 2mm thick. Can you please tell me if its reasonable to have these design strips on the floor or not? Are there any problems associated with the strips (e.g., dirt/cleaning, unsticking)? Is it difficult to install such strips? Is it worth installing them? Thank you very much for your opinions/suggestions.
Personal taste really, nothing wrong having them. If installed correctly then they won't lift etc. If your tiles are 2.5mm thick then a 2mm thick strip won't be the end of the world. The QS being micro bevelled then the amtico strips will work with them tiles but won't be bang on flush if you are really fussy. Would have been ideal for a 2.5mm strip but again, not a massive issue. With the tiles being micro bevelled then even with a 2.5mm strip you'll feel a tiny difference when you rub your finger over. Keep on top of the cleaning and you'll have no issue with dirt.
