    Hi all,
I am unable to post in the correct forums, I have a query someone might be able to provide an answer for.
I have been asked by a family member to lay 16m2 Amitco in there dinning room standard lay up,
Its an old house 1950s with 19mm wooden floor boards which are dry but will require some sanding for level.
This is were I need help. I have never used stick down vinyl, I work with laminate and carpet tiles mostly in flat maintenance.
My options are to skim coat ardex feather finish on 9mm Malaysian ply hand nailed and lay with F46.
or 6mm ply and prime and screed with stopgap 700 before 46.
This is a favour so I don't want to spend more than a couple of days completing this but still would like a decent finish.
So what is my best approach skim or screed and is f bal still the best system or is there better options?
    Thanks in advance.

This is impossible to answer without looking at the job. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a floorboarded subfloor that is good enough for LVT depending on colour of the plank and how much natural light will be on it. Plus you don’t have any control over the plywood subfloor taking on moisture and expanding at any time now or in the future. Best off with a self levelling compound over the top of a plywood. Make sure you take moisture readings of the floorboards.
