Hi, Need some advice - I'm about to get carpet fitted in a bedroom of my 2nd floor ex-council flat, but have noticed some cracking and movement in the concrete subfloor. The crack is only small, but it feels a bit spongy and moves down a few mil when you put pressure on it. Also makes a disconcerting creaking/cracking sound when you put pressure on it. The floor around it seems solid enough. It seems like there's a chuck of concrete which has broken off from the main floor slab and is creaking and cracking against the rest of the slab? What's the best way to repair this and who is the best person to do it? Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks Chloe
Really it needs all the loose sections taken out and filled with ardex a45 rapid repair or a smoothing compound and granno chips. But for carpet you would get away with it.
Thanks for the advice - if I wanted to get the repair done, who's the best trade to call? Struggling to find anyone who'll do this in the east london area. Cheers
