OK so one of my regulars at the care home has been busy during lockdown, they had a bad leak in one of their wetrooms and had to rip the lot out. It was a timber floor so they had to rip the old boards out, back to the joists and replaced the lot with wickes P5 T&G boarding. He's put the drainage cover in the boards and wants me to crack on with the flooring If I'd have known I would have told him to put the tray system in then I would have ply'd to it. I've never done one without a tray in before and the ones I have done have all had them in... I've obviously now got to make sure the water flows to that corner so wondering what procedure you more experienced wetroom 'massives' take
Sod that. If it was easy to do by hand they wouldn’t make trays would they? But in all honesty I have no idea as I stay as far away from wet rooms as possible. I looked at one once as part of a job and when I lifted the lid of the drain to see how it was fixed the smell that came out nearly killed me. Think someone had dropped a stinker in there and blocked it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In my experience falls can be made with the right screed and some timbers but it takes time. I would recommend that they fit a tray, this way you know it’s right! No come backs!!!
