Starting to see a lot different screeds etc these days so thought we could discuss what you have seen. Years ago it was a lot of floorboards which ok you had cupping but a strong base. Now chipboard is a nightmare. Squeaks a lot and no real way to fit it unless you take it up. On the screed type in Liverpool I’m seeing most new builds with a weak screed and lots of latency on top which has to be ground off then most of the time 2 coat Dpm.
I work in alot of very old properties I tend to find lots of different sub floors all in the same room ffs
Just had the same problem. Brand new chipboard, 12mm ply and flexi screed and I still felt it crack under my foot by the bifold doors today. No doubt the lazy builders haven’t put enough support by the doors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
New build is a disaster. I`ve seen loads of chipboard floors, fitted before the build is watertight. Squeaky, bouncy, and swollen, by the time were in. Never yet seen any new builds, have any grinding done on the anhydright either. Were on one at the moment, sand and cement screed, and its by miles the worst I have seen. Shocking finish
