    Hi all,

Our old cottage is carpeted, but does not have skirting boards, and we are used to this “look”. However, we have finally had new carpets fitted and it is clear that the rooms would look much smarter/finished with skirting boards.

Would it be possible to lift the new carpets from the edges, fit skirting, and then trim and refit the carpets? We would be prepared to pay a professional carpet fitter if needed.

Looking forward to all of your advice and thanks in advance.

Yes, easy enough for a carpet fitter to do.

Easy job for a fitter, done this several times myself.

    Great to hear.

Many thanks for your replies and will try and remember to post some before and after photos once the job is completed in case of use to others.
