Hello all, Just looking into Karndean art select parquet and hoping for some advice please - the plan is to install herringbone pattern, with a border of 2 rows of the same and a 5mm design strip. What in all that would need bevelling? Would the field need bevelling at all of the cut edges? In which case would the design strip be thinner than the 3mm thickness to match up to the reduced, bevelled height? Or would / could the design strip itself have a bevel cut onto it? Or would all of the field edges and the design strip remain unbevelled (in which case there'd be a mismatch on the other side of the design strip mating up to the parquet tiles being used as border). Sorry for all of the questions, but it's kind of one long, related question I guess! Thanks for any help!
I lay border 1st then 5mm x 3mm design syrup then cut into that. But if charging more I use 5mm x 2.5mm and bevel every cut. But depending on room I sometimes do middle 1st and bevel it all before doing border.
Thanks for the replies. Would seem like the best result ought to be bevelled, guess it takes more time and skill to do so, hope it'll show in the results then! I gather there's the option of the Janser/Amtico style bevel tool or xacto stirrup blades, would either be more likely to guarantee a good finish? Thanks again.
