Got a 4 by 3 meter dining room whic is basically been used for shoes, coats and the two dogs. I had vinyl sheet in the old house, but first thing that dropped on it spit the vinyl due to the thick cushioned bit underneath. I intended buyin a good quality thin vinyl sheet that dosent have the cushioning,,,, my thinking that when something drops on it it won't damage so easily. My option of vinyl is basically due to having old dogs that more than occasionally pee on the floor through the night. When I went to my local store......I mentioned vinyl regarding dogs and straight away they recommended LVT.....a European made one....can't remember name. They said it would be best for dogs....I raised the concern about dog pee sitting on it through the night and was told it would be OK. I am wary because I had laminate at the other house and this started to raise due to the dog pea been pulled into the joints. So any advice as to what you would advise woul be great.......I did consider the industrial polymor stuff but the wife won't stand for the jointing head. Cheers Wuyang
How's the vinyl clip boards hold up to been wet. I was told they are waterproof, but could they hold up to having dog urine on them through the night.....would it get pulled through where they clip together and cause problems?
you could use lvt but it would have to be a dryback product not a click otherwise the water could penetrate the flooring and get in between the floor and the underlay and cause an issue potentially. I would have to agree that altro is the best option and polyflor are the nuts in that field but make sure if it is lvt or altro that you get the correct sub floor prep work done prior to the floor being fitted as that is essential to any smooth floor too many people cut corners with floor prep.
