Hi, as per title, we're looking to install Karndean Van Gogh over electric underfloor heating. It will be laid on an established concrete sub base (20 + years) and be the primary heat source. Can anyone advise on the best products to use/what exactly will be needed for the job. Links to places to purchase would be great. Thanks in advance
No, I've got a floor layer coming in to install the floor. I just need to get the underfloor heating sorted beforehand. I've just come across the Flexel ecofilm which looks like it would be perfect for the job. I can't find anything about it on here though although it looks exactly the same as Ebeco film.
Hopefully it’s a decent one as most electric ones aren’t great to heat whole rooms just to warm the room. Poly pipe wet UFH is best to heat rooms. Found out the hard way a few years ago. Took rad out of bathroom. Did wire UFH , Room was cold in winter. Feet were warm though when on the toilet
I hate ufh heating. I thought we had got rid of it when the Romans left. Seems to be making a return Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Electric UFH will not be suffice as a primary source of heat....... it’s designed for ceramic tiles to take the coldness out when walked upon so wouldn’t use as a genuine heat source but as a secondary heat source. We do the wire mesh systems a lot and with all the extra cost messing about don’t actually see the point
Murexin maximo61 is the best screed to use over UFH, it’s the only screed designed to disperse heat away from hot spots, also allows 20% more heat to come through the floor.
To be fair it's a kitchen installation, it never really gets cold in there but we wanted to maximise space by removing the radiator and put underfloor heating in. The room is only 10 square meters.
