Client wants a solid-black vinyl. Can't find any that are not:
    i) "safety" (ie, heavily textured)
    ii) expensive
iii) not heterogenous (ie, have a thinner "wear" layer.

Marmoleum do a homogenous, plain black linoleum but it's expensive and has all the usual problems linoleum has with water.

So... looking for cheap(ish), hard-wearing, plain black vinyl in rolls at least 2m wide. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. The client is concerned about oil spillage (it's for a cafeteria) and every rubber/synthetic rubber surface I've seen says it degrades in the presence of oils.

That's the thing really If your after something specific that's not readily available your going to have to pay what ever it costs of or make a compromise

The strange thing is that Polyflor do a homogenous vinyl ("Black Panther") that is cheap but isn't pure black; it has a few "marble-like" streaks of grey/white. They (and every other manufacturer) could easily just produce the same thing without the streaks of grey/white. But... as far as I'm aware... no one does. Which is why I posted here; in the hope someone knew a manufacturer who did :)

I'd be pushing the polyflor gear if they want cheap and tell them that's the only option at their budget

They need to widen their options

    Thanks for the suggestion.

Not sure it comes across too well on my phone's camera. Especially with the UFO lights on the warehouse roof... But yeah, here's the "Black" next to a "grey".

It's a Furlong product, so I guess it'll be pretty easy to find in the flesh...
