    Hi all,

I posted last month regarding some screed that was laid and it not being level with the existing floor. The advice was very helpful and my floor fitting came round and re-assured me it would be fine.

I’ve now noticed some fine cracks appearing as I’m increasing the UFH temp up by a degree each day. I have a floor probe put in.

I’ve attached some pictures, screed has been down 2 weeks. It is Cemfloor which has a drying time of 28 days. Cement based screed 90mm laid over 100mm of insulation and membrane.

Is this something I should be worried about? It does not sound hollow.

    Thank you.

    Turn the ufh off
It’s not dry yet and the UFh is force drying it causing the cracks
    You shouldnt force dry concrete
    Only Anhydride

Thank you I’ll turn off the heating.

Are the air holes an issue? The fitter states he will sand before flooring.

It will need a primer then a smoothing compound first and the concrete must be dry

Thank you, that’s exactly what the fitter will be doing.
    Sanding/priming and then self level.

In regards to the cracks. If I turn off the heat, will it be okay?

Should be but the cracks should be filled before the smoothing compound goes down or they’ll come through and eventually can show through the karndean

As long as they are just hairline cracks an no movement you should be ok.
Give it another 2 weeks they put UFH on low
