Fed up with the extra work under bevelling tiles on all 4 sides to get nice fit , then this week the stripping is just as bad , had to slice down every length of stripping to cut through the backing .

Amtico are focusing too much on new designs and products for Spacia rather than quality control .
Ever since Spacia production in China with the black backing stopped and the new uk made grey backing tiles have never had a nice fit .
They need to cut the Spacia prices in half or cut the tiles properly .
Oh and the glue from sealing the boxes of wood planks are always all over the planks sometimes you dont see it until u stick it in wet glue then get in a mess either trying to carve the glue off the side of plank or just throwing the full plank out the nearest open window

Rant over happy new year guys .

Only thing made in the uk is the box it comes in. Vinyl tiles are like real wood, they expand and contract and they do it at different rates. Spacia is one of the worse offenders along with Karndean opus. I’ve had no problems with Da Vinci or Amtico signature. Problem is some people are happy to sit on a job and re trim each tile. Not good for the rest of us that have a life

He’s taking about bad machine cuts Dan

Reason is the blade in the cutting machine wasn’t quite sharp enough when that batch was made so it’s left a raggey edge
Seen that a lot with spacia and yes I’ve sat and trimmed it all off Not ideal but it’s either that or send it back and not get paid
I’ve got a tool that sorts it pretty quickly so not the end of the world.
The black and grey backing has nothing to do with what country it was made in rather which factor is was made

Spacia does have those bad cuts from machines as you say white tiles with no grout is a no no. Karndean strips are shocking. Opus and spacia tiles are different sizes. You lose money either way. Send it back and lose a days work or spend a day re trimming every plank? As long as you’ve priced for retrimming every piece it’s all extra work I guess

Doing every plank / tile in a room you you sort it quickly. Fuck that off , loads of Lvt’s are cheaply made these days.
This is why I do mainly Moduleo. Never had that problem.
