Hi chaps, for various reasons our flooring supplier has recommended laying vinyl on top of the existing quickstep in our kitchen (units were laid on top of the flooring - big expensive job to raise units for new floor) and we hate the laminate, his only worry was the fact that the quickstep is the type with the bevelled edges and therefore there are shallow 'grroves' in the surface, he is suggesting, I'm sure correctly, that these grooves will soon start to show through the vinyl. I suggested that I could fill the grooves with some kind of filler, shouldn't take more than an hour or two, a fairly simple job really, anyone any thoughts please ?
Could fill them with uzin 888. Not sure vinyl over laminate is 100% guarantee tho. Could cause problems. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's a risk but seen it done many a time. More to the point, your kitchen shouldn't be on top of a floated floor?? Best lift it all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks for all the help ... well the guy from the flooring shop said it was OK ... I guess based on the fact that ALL kitchen units inc. built-in dishwasher, fridge, wash machine, oven etc would have to be removed, I think we'll take a chance .... for a biscuit !
