hi folks , I'm looking for some advice, the solid concrete floors in the 60s built bungalow we have recently bought have suffered from settling towards the corners in 3 of the rooms. We are renovating so I'm looking for advice on solutions to level the floors. Currently there are Marley tiles down and all are stuck down ok except at the edges where the carpet gripper was. I've read up on the asbestos risk etc with removing them but it seems I've no choice but to lift them all up. Now once lifted what would be my next step ? I understand the tiles/bitumen acted as a dpm so once removed I'd need to apply a new dpm. I want to fully understand the process before I start to get quotes to have this work done. I'd appreciate any advice ..
I will recommend to use Ardex products. When you remove the tiles, you need to do floor grinding to make the concrete smooth, clean it well any dust left over and then apply DPM after maybe next day Aridtex Na and you are ready. For LVT you need to use floor sanding machine ( SPE STR 701). www.birminghamfloors.co.uk
