Hello, we have just had the new floor and kitchen fitted when we realised that the flooring supplier had sent us brushed floor instead of unbrushed one. Our fault, we should have inspected upon delivery, I know. But it all came together with the new kitchen and trusting this particular brand of good quality flooring (not sure if allowed to name the brand), we have just passed in on to our carpenter. From our previous experience with the brushed floor we know we just cannot afford it in kitchen... impossible to clean in tiny grooves. The brushed grooves also start filling up with the often moist dirt and blacken up fast. The carpenter has left only yesterday and today our daugther has dropped whole bowl of raspberry jelly on the floor! Is there anything we can do at this stage? Can we seal it with something easily preferably with something that does not have a strong smell or high voc and dries quickly? Please help. We have just spent so much money on the kitchen we were saving up for for a while and I can see that before a year passes the floor will look horrible! Many thanks!
You should contact the manufacturer first as see if they will recommend a product. If they won't it will be a gamble putting a coat of another lacquer over the top. Some may work, some will just peel off straight away Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Get your carpenter back in to help you sort it, he should know what to do as he knows what product it is and what's on the wood
