I have some very old heart pine floorboards that I removed from a home built 1902. They are 30ft. 1x12s and are not tongue and groove. I realize there are many different ways to install them. I just want to keep it simple and very rustic;just like they were.My room is 14x30 and I want to run them the length..It is on concrete and I wanted to use 2x4's,on 16 center to attach to..I am not concerned about the thresholds.Could I get by with 6mil plastic then the 2by's ,then some 30 lb felt , then the boards butted up edge to edge. If this would work ;; how would I fasten down the 2by's ? and the floorboards ? Thanks for your time

Ultimately, if you're not too sure., it's worth paying a reputable floorer to lay it.
