Work has started to dry up a little from a contracting point of view last 2 weeks or so. Apart from the obvious website and flyers how do you all ensure you have work from week to week. I have been advised that going to networking events is good. Anyone recommend? Cheers.
They can be a good source but consider the membership costs involved. Also you need to dedicate time to attending the events weekly which also costs.
Hi Pixel I have been a member of BNI for the past 17 years and get most of my business from there. I know a number of other floor layers who belong to BNI but it isn't for everyone. As Glenn says it is a weekly commitment and there are costs involved - it costs me about £1000 a year overall. This is for membership and weekly fees. Last year I had about £50,000 worth of business out of it and over the past couple of months have had jobs worth £23,000. You can go along to a couple of meetings to see if you like it and if it is for you. A lot will depend on the current members there but you will find most groups are very welcoming. What area are you in?
Yes it is BNI that i was looking into. I went to one of their local meetings this week and was really quite imoressed by it all but the difficulty is that i would have to ask our current contractors if they will allow us to be late to sites once a week to enable me to go. Im very keen to join
