Hi, I'm a bit of a newbie who is looking at laying some Quickstep laminate in my living room, but am stuck at what to do regarding the subfloor. I started taking up the carpet and there seems to be a 3mm plyboard nailed to the floorboards... underneath which is some strange plastic material and newspaper... from 1958! The plywood had perished in places so I have had to remove some. Was wondering what the best thing is for me to do now. Take up the plywood and lay laminate on floorboards... or replace the patches with more plywood? I have a 4mm Also the plywood doesn't go right to the edge of the wall... there is a 6 inch gap around the edges of just floorboard. Many thanks for advice. Neil
Rip up all the plywood and start again. Check floorboards are all fixed down. Sand down any high spots Then a good wood underlay On tapatalk HD
