Hi there, I'm new to the site and was wondering if somebody could help me. I have been asked to do a stair runner job for somebody, the cotton tape binding not the standard whipping, and I would like to know how other carpet fitters/floor layers would stick the tape down at the sides? The customer has been very specific and says she doesn't want to be able to get her hand under it or see the underlay or gripper from the side when she is in the hallway, which she had with the last one. I certainly don't want to pin or staple it as it would show terribly through the tape. Is there a way or a glue to use? Thanks

I'd go with the double sided tape too. Make sure you use the strong webbed version to ensure a good finish that shouldn't raise or lose tack.
