What is it with Karndean Opus and their grout strip

Having to fight with every tile I put down and trying to get a tight butt finish with their AF05 grout strip literally gave me a headache from all the pressure pulling them in as I laid every tile. Proper head doer. I swore I wouldnt do opus with grout strip again after the last big job I did a while ago but thought surely they couldnt be that bad again. If I get anoher job involving the same stuff again im not doing it. All these hairline gaps are driving me nuts!!!

Hate having to rub a knife down a join but had to do it various places.

    Rant over....for now.

Dont get me started on karndean strips, everytime I have to use them I moan on twitter and call them out on it, everytime they say they will get technical department to phone me and discuss the issue, how many phone calls do you think ive had from them to explain? karndean dont care about complaints so your better off just not selling the stuff, they knock there stuff out as cheap as they can im not even sure if they do QC.

On a side note had a particularly poor batch of spacia friday to fit, are the white spacia boxes old stock as I thought they just used the brown plain packaging nowadays.

Yes, small jobs are fine with strips, but big one and around the columns are hard and difficult.

I got the brown packaging with the last spacia I used and have done for a while now. Maybe you are right about old stock.

Regards to this shitting karndean Its embarrassing everytime I go back to the house (still doing a lot of work there) I just feel disappointed. Customer is pleased but you know when you are a fitter and when the fitting doesnt fit as it should, it just does your head in. How they claim the opus are not bevelled baffles me, even if its the smallest of bevel its still 'bevelled'

Hate the stuff, never again. Until I started the job I forgot why I hated them due to being so long since ive fitted opus, to think I could have had it easier with some expona as well. Wish I had of gone for the 2mm strip instead of the 2.5, it would have looked better.

I've heard that karndean have never had a problem with any of their products. Never even a complaint. I must be the unluckiest guy!

I stopped fitting Opus as the tiles are slightly different sizes. Really annoying when your trying to lay a floor straight
