Had an email through from a main contractor we do a lot for, and it says all cutting tools, must now have vacuum extraction, and the vacuum must be rated. I think this is the way things are going to go on the contract side.
Up until now, i`ve had power take off vac`s but not rated. It seems these will not be allowed on site now.
We have a shit load of ply to fix, so thought i`d try one of these, a TS55 & vac

We also fit the hygienic panels for them, so a rail saw will come in handy.
Does anyone else use Festool stuff ?

I`ve always been happy with Makita to be honest.
Just fancied a change, and heard they were supposed to be good. If the blade and saw aren`t spot on they chip the hygienic panels, and we have a fair bit of that to do. Like the idea of the rail system too

I've got the ts55 and the ctl 26 vac, it's a good saw and it's got the splinter guard for clean cuts they do work well with the rail, the vacuums are good too but they have a flimsy black plastic top and they break easy.
I haven't had any problems with mine but I did have mine converted to take numatic bags which are a lot cheaper than the festool ones.
I haven't had any other vacuum like for like so can't compare.

I thought I might have found a kindred spirit. Though I'm very much a fair weather biker!!

I spend most of my time at the side of the track, getting covered in dust, or mud

If the ply is no more then 6mm, you can use stanley knife to cut them but is going to be hard and dangerous job.
