If a carpet tile is laid as brick, do the tiles have to line up exactly half way? Or can I just use the cut from the line before so it's more staggered?

    Ok...

The reason I ask is it can be completed with next to 0% wastage if it is staggered and unfortunately priced so tightly!

Also the pattern is not an issue if it is staggered...

staggered as in like laminate?, personally I wouldn't do it, if they have asked for brick bond your not giving them brick bond by staggering it as you would prefer and when the tiles start to wear and the joins become more obvious as to where they are it will look terrible imho if the price is that tight why do it?

carpet tiles your only talking 5% waste anyway how can a job thats worth doing not have enough money for 5% waste in it??

Hmm ok, thanks for the advice.

They haven't asked for brick bond. I just worked out it is a lot more efficient if it was a slightly staggered brick bond.

It's a corridor so wastage is more.

If done the right way as in lined up properly in a big room I think it would look good myself, would like abit weird if tessalated I suppose though

Tessellated brick bond...arghhh. Taking away all that is good about fitting carpet tiles.

I maybe wrong here but would the look not depend on the finish/type of carpet tile installed?

Manufacturers recommend their ranges to be laid in a certain way so I would always go with what they say.
Just did a camper conversion version show room in Tessera Create Space 3, they say they can be laid broadloom, tessellated, half drop or brickbond. Just mention this as an example.
I certainly wouldn't be laying it like laminate!
