I've been asked to do a stairwell in a small block of flats, I have told the owner would be best to put stair nosings on as carpet will wear through on the edge of the concrete steps.

He isn't for it because he doesn't want to spend the money on them.

Should I do the job without the nosings or should I walk away as to me it's not getting done correctly.
Don't want 6 months down the line he calling me saying carpet it wearing through.

    What would you guys do?

Ps the carpet going down will be gel back valour type.

If someone falls down the stairs on a wet day/careless I wouldn't want to be the one who put the floor down with no nosings, isn't it a legal requirement for communal areas nowadays? and as the professional you should of insisted on installing them as the landlord/owner will no doubt pass the buck if they can.

I wasn't sure if it was legal or not. I think I will just keep away from it.

A local shop asked me to do it for them, and want me to go check it out tomorrow will speak to the landlord and insist he must put the nosings down.
True if anyone falls who ever installed it will be getting the blame.

    Thanks.
