Those with smaller vans, do you use roof racks to transport ply? Ideally I want a "small" van.., so would need a roof rack.. I've looked at the ultibar system., and wondered if anyone uses the same thing??? If they're not compatible with smaller vans, I'll have to bite the bullet and get a Transit SWB low roof, which do carry 8x4 sheets... (Lease from £200 a month)
Don't bother with a roof rack you'll regret it in the end Search Vanarama for the cheapest lease vans
Thanks Spacey..., I'll be looking to get the SWB, as they state that it'll take 8x4s on the angle.. Will be early next year (Feb/March) when I do get one..
Trust me when I say ply on a roof rack won't work, when had swb I did once the wind gets under it and snaps bits off
Ive had 25 sheets fly off when I had my trafic swb. Some doughnut forgot to strap them down. Came off like a pack of cards Get the Lwb if you can as its always nice to have that 'extra length' Its ok them saying the swb takes 8x4's but watching another fitter mate of mine curse hell when he's got 15 sheets on an angle and he needs to get something out from the corner behind it. It all depends how much tools you carry....
Guys can anyone help?? I have a roof rack on me Renault traffic which i need to get off. I have found and removed 3 of the bolts but the fourth is spinning and it is so awkward that i cant get anything in there to cut it. has anyone encountered this problem before?
Use a dremmell and grind the bastard off!!!!! Meanwhile back to the van convo, I would go for the lwb vivaro traffic. Excellent for the extra space, and as rugmuncher said everyone wants that bit of extra length lol
